Cappadocia, AD62
After being routed by a combined Armenian-Parthian army at the Battle of Rhandeia, the Roman XII Fulminata legion is in retreat.
Uncharacteristically, this soldier has becomes separated from his comrades and is obviously lost in enemy territory.
And he is right to feel apprehensive as he roams alone through unknown territory. Already, in the distance, he can hear the enemy patrols and their baying dogs searching for Roman survivors.
When captured - this is inevitable - he will be stripped naked, raped as a trophy and then marched off into slavery. A lusty, young soldier such a he will command a good price in a Persian slave-market where Roman slaves are highly prized.
