The above catalogue-picture of this gorgeous red-haired merchandise makes me even more determined to visit as soon as I can Skank & Dreyfus and attend in particular their next auction.
ReplyDeleteIn ancient Rome, red-haired young Celtic male slaves, like this one, captured in Gaul or in Britain ….. tall, sturdy, cute and virile and very well endowed …… were fetching very high prices at slave auctions.
In particular ,an “Urban legend” of those times said that those brawny red-haired male giants were “unrivalled indefatigable stallions” for “mounting” and giving pleasure “for hours and hours” to insatiable nymphomaniac rich Ladies and to debauched effeminate and sexually passive Lords, a legend and a reputation that was said also of other two kinds of young male slaves, the Basques (from the North of Spain) and the young Jews (probably due to their circumcision that -again legends said- was delaying their orgasms, in this way prolonging their vigorous “pumping activity” in giving pleasure to their Mistress or passive Master).
These “urban myths” –according to Roman authors- caused a “crowding” of lustful rich Ladies and of lewd “womanly” wealthy Lords in Slave Markets every time that a new cargo of robust and well endowed red-haired Gallic or British young males ….. or of sturdy Basque or Jewish youths …… arrived at the local Slave Market and were offered for sale.
Even if my “tastes” go into a fully opposite direction, I will certainly bid for this gorgeous red-haired “Celt” …. And I’m sure that he too will fetch a very high knocking down price, like his Gallic and British "ancestors” of 2,000 years ago !
